International FC and Markham SC Formalize Strategic Affiliation to Strengthen High-Performance Player Pathway

York Region, ON – International FC and Markham Soccer Club have formally entered into an affiliation agreement representing a strategic transition in York Region’s high-performance soccer landscape.

Based on the affiliation agreement and the historical context of both organizations, this partnership is designed to strengthen collaboration and establish a clear, structured development pathway for players progressing towards Ontario Premier League (OPL) competition.

The primary intent of the agreement is to provide a direct development pathway for Markham Soccer Club members into International FC’s OPL teams. Through this pathway, Markham Soccer Club players will gain direct access to International FC’s talent identification systems, training environments, and competitive structures aligned with OPL standards.

As the Ontario Premier League license holder, International FC offers Markham Soccer Club members a clear route toward semi-professional competition. In addition, International FC will provide coaching and development support for teams that include Markham Soccer Club players, reinforcing shared standards and long-term player development across both organizations.

The affiliation also recognizes and builds upon Markham Soccer Club’s longstanding legacy and impact within the York Region soccer community. Founded in 1971, Markham Soccer Club is one of Ontario’s oldest and most established soccer organizations. With over 5,000 members and decades of sustained participation in the York Region Soccer Association, the club has played a foundational role in the growth and resilience of the game across the region.
