In addition to the pleasure of being a part of your child's soccer season, the Markham Soccer Club is grateful for the necessary support we receive from our volunteer convenors and coaches.

You don't need to be an ex-professional soccer player to coach house league soccer. This rewarding position requires nothing but enthusiasm.  The Club provides all the equipment you need and our Club Head Coach supplies a detailed coaching manual to ensure that your practices are rewarding and fun. Each team head coach receives a $50 registration credit at the end of the season. The Club supplies a cool coaching shirt for all house league team coaches.

We will have a House League Technical Director who will be out at the fields and who will offer assistance with practice, suggestions, game day strategies and any other questions you may have.  Our goal is to provide exceptional support to our coaches.

Just fill out the Volunteer Application Form (found in the Volunteer Section under the HOME tab on the website) or send an email to Michelle Self or select the appropriate box when you are registering your child online.

House League Guides, Rules and Details

The three references below explain how we run our recreational house league. All coaches must understand how they pertain to their division's teams and players.  All parents are encouraged to read the first one. Parents of players up to U12 should also read the LTPD FAQs.

Parent Guide - 2015 edition - contains events, dates and basic rules of interest to parents.
Playing Rules - V5.0  April 2013 - contains detailed Club and division-specific rules.
LTPD FAQs published by the OSA - Explains changes to the U8 to U12 ages in the last couple of years.
