Gosse, Martin and Serafino Upgrade to Provincial B

A few weeks after achieving Provincial C Licenses, all three Markham SC coaches, Laura Serafino, Laura Gosse and Rene Martin, passed their assessments to achieve Provincial B Coaching Licenses.
Club Head Coach and Technical Director, Tommy Bianchi noted, "These coaches are certainly a different breed. Their dedication to detail and their passion for the game transcends what I see from a lot of other coaches."
Gosse and Martin are the Group Head Coaches for our U9 girls and boys programs, respectively, while Serafino is an assistant coach with the 2001 OPDL girls squad.

Coaching Development - Three Coaches Earn Provincial C Licenses

The Markham Soccer Club is pleased to announce that Laura Gosse (U9 Girls Age Group Head Coach) Rene Martin (U9 Boys Age Group Head Coach) and Laura Serafino (U15 OPDL Girls Assistant Coach) were certified with the OSA Provincial C coaching license. All three candidates passed the course “with distinction” allowing them the opportunity to progress into the OSA Provincial B License with no wait period.

Club Head Coach and Technical Director, Tommy Bianchi, commented, “All three candidates worked so hard to achieve success on their C license. Each of them should be very proud of what they achieved. They represented themselves and the Markham Soccer Club in a positive manner.”

Mark Marshall, Manager, Coaching, at the Ontario Soccer Association further recognized the senior technical staff at the club, namely Head Coach Tommy plus Development Managers Richard Alexander (Girls) and Dino Cramarossa (Boys) in an email to Bianchi.

“I wanted to pass on my congratulations on the excellent work that you have been doing over the last couple of years in coaching education,” Mark wrote. “We have been very impressed with the consistency and level of the coaches attending both the C and B License courses… I think this shows the commitment to your coaches that you really are interested and care about their development. We are not seeing this from many other organizations.”

Mark also added, “…I feel you are one of the leading clubs in OPDL (for coaching development) and that the high standards that you are setting should help to raise the standards of other OPDL members.”

Gosse, Martin and Serafino will begin their pursuit of a Provincial B License in August of this year.
